Here we go again… again… and again.
Jadon Sancho rumors swirl around the Twitter-verse after the young English star misses BvB’s Super Cup clash with Bayern with a “respiratory infection” (not COVID). Can Manchester United pull off a summer transfer window miracle? Fat chance.
A few folks may remember that just before Harry Maguire was signed that he “phoned in sick” to Leicester, missing his first practice with them all summer. So certainly, this must be the same scenario right? Why would Dortmund’s arguably best player miss out on a Cup matchup with the reigning Bundesliga, and European, champs? (Also they’re biggest rivals).
Don’t hold your breath!
Within the last 24 hours there have been articles, videos, etc. spewed all over saying “UNITED BID REJECTED” or “NO BID YET” or “UNITED TO MAKE SANCHO MOVE NEXT WEEK”.
Not to mention the articles linking United to Barcelona’s Dembele & Watford’s Sarr as consolation signings… It’s hard not to get caught up in the latest United transfer window saga.
A whole lot of muppetry to me.
All Smoke, No Fire
This simply looks like Woodward & Co. kicking the can down the road, a day late, and a few (million) dollars short. All leading to an excuse as to why United didn’t sign anyone besides Van de Beek.
The simple fact is, United is broke and a big money signing doesn’t make financial sense. You heard it on the Pod first, because you certainly won’t hear it from Ed.
