With Jadon Sancho rumors dying at the open of the transfer window, we have seen a resurgence in Manchester United being linked to the young Portuguese winger João Félix. The papers today in England are reporting Manchester United is interested in triggering his eye-watering
£100 million buyout clause. Dubbed the “next CR7,” João has gained the attention of the biggest clubs in Europe and any move from Benfica this summer will certainly entertain multiple bidders.
For those unfamiliar with the 19-year-old youngster, he had a breakout season with Benfica this year, scoring 20 goals and tallying 11 assists! I have scoured highlight videos for the best of the best (embedded above) and I am starting to believe the hype. Remember the “real CR7” had only scored 5 goals and tallied 1 assist for Sporting Lisbon before Manchester United picked him up. For me, João Félix’s versatility is his biggest asset and he could fit into a Manchester United side in multiple roles. He can play on the right wing, as a number 10 or as a second striker, all positions United needs to strengthen this summer.
